Drei international bekannte Akteure der experimentellen Musik suchen gemeinsame neue Wege des musikalischen "Ad hoc". Neben völlig freiem Spiel erproben sie verschiedene Formen improvisatorischer Konzepte wie z.B. Miniatur, spontan wechselnde Solo-Duo-Tutti-Konfigurationen sowie dreistimmigen, (im Bach'schen Sinne) durchgehend "perfekten" Kontrapunkt aus Parametern wie Bewegungsdichte, fluktuierende Tempi oder Ton-Geräusch-Konglomerate. Durch die Einbeziehung verschiedenster Utensilien und Kleinobjekte sowie Live-Elektronik nutzt und kreiert das Trio außerdem extrem erweiterte Spieltechniken.

Biliana Voutchkova studies classical violin, in her college years starts being involved with the contemporary and improvised music scene. Dedicated chamber musician and improviser, a risk taker approaching contemporary and classical repertoire with the same inspiration and freedom characteristic of her forceful improvisations. Involved in interaction with dancers, improvisers, composers, visual artists and others eager to search into the unknown, among those her colleagues from GRAPESHADE, Frances-Marie Uitti, Matthias Bauer, Chiyoko Szlavnics, Robin Hayward, Michael Thieke, Axel Dörner, Louise Wagner. Appears in festivals and concert series worldwide, collaborates with Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop, Ensemble Modern, Insomnio, Mozaik and Laboratorium Ensembles, Das Neue Ensemble Hannover, MusikFabrik, Sasha Waltz & Guests, Oper Dynamo West and others.

Markus Pesonen

guitarist, composer and sound artist who spends his time both in Copenhagen and Berlin. Markus started his musical journey with improvisation and composition working both with popular and classical music in Kuopio, Finland. After his studies in Helsinki, he moved to Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2006 where he completed his master’s degree in music performance at the city’s Rhythmic Music Conservatory in 2010.

Markus is involved in many different constellations ranging from solo guitar and electronics to he’s 11-piece ensemble Markus Pesonen Hendectet, while actively writing music for film and improvising with dancers and performance artists. The common elements that run through all of his work are a wide embrace of sound, with a special emphasis on communication and a sense of presence as expressed through improvisation. Has performed with artists such as Django Bates, Herb Robertson, John Tchicai, Lotte Anker and Lindha Kallerdahl.
